The Client Experience

How has your experience been with JC imagery and how did Jodi make you feel?

Our whole experience was incredible from start to finish. It was lovely to know Marley was safe and in very capable hands with Jodi, but also that I was also able to be comfortable in her professional environment. I felt understood and relaxed during what was a challenging time, as most postpartum women will agree.

Highlights

What was the highlight of your session?

Watching my partner interact with Jodi and Marley to set up the shoots. It was my first time since she was born I really could sit and watch without worrying or fussing… The part where Marley also wee’d on Jodi made me laugh too!

Our Story

Is there a story surrounding your pregnancy? Was it a breeze or did your little one make you work for it?

Asides from some controlled hypertension, in hindsight it was pretty breezy after the all day sickness dropped off 2nd tri.. I carried her fairly well, didn’t swell or blow up, had attainable cravings of hot chips, honey in sourdough toast.. and organic royal gala apples, but I’d only eat them from one grower only.. many other apples went into the bin with one bite taken out.

How did you find out whether you were having a boy or a girl? Or was it a total surprise?

We found out at 20w scan.. We were so sure it was a boy though we got them to double check on the day and then triple check again at 28w…

Baby Name

How did you come up with your baby’s name? And did you have other names that you used while your new baby was still in the womb)?

We had thrown a few names around but at the scan when we found out it was a girl, I just looked at my fiance and said “Marley” and he immediately agreed. We called her The Punisher while she was in the womb.. not for sinister reasons though. We’d just finished watching it on Netflix and one of her scan images of her skull looked like his logo/emblem thing. So we went with that.

Preparation

Tell me your favourite stores that you are obsessed with shopping at (this may help other parents prepare for their new miracle).

You can’t go past ‘Kmart’ and ‘Best & Less’.. and ‘Aldi’ when it’s baby week.. then online for girls there is: ‘Little Eedie Boutique‘, ‘Bubs Warehouse‘, ‘CMC Gold‘, ‘Mae & Rae‘, ‘Lulu & Milly‘, ‘Arrabella Rose’, ‘Tutuirresistable’… Also, ‘Bonds‘ wonsersuits are the best too.

How far in advance did you prepare the nursery? Or did you wing it last minute?

We started at 20w, but it wasn’t 100% done till I went on my mat leave at 35w and had time to nest.

Tips & Tricks

Do you have any tips for expecting mums?

Enjoy your pregnancy. It sounds silly to some but it is a wonderful experience, I miss laying down at night and feeling her kick and roll around.

Do you have any tips and tricks for parents adjusting to parenthood in those early days?

It’s okay to cry, take plenty of photos and remember you can never spoil a newborn. Hold them, kiss them and take in the amazing smell that is baby breath!
