Baby and Newborn Photographer Adelaide JC imagery
Oh baby! Where do I even start… This little cherub is Lucas and he arrived 5 weeks early! We scheduled his session once he settled in at home and on the day, we didn’t hear a peep from him – what a dream!
His beautiful mumma Anah, has some amazing advice in regards to having realistic expectations during pregnancy and has shared her journey with you so please read on!
Hope you enjoy our favourites from his gallery and feel free to contact me if you are interested in your own photography session! Jodi x
How has your experience been with JC imagery and would you recommend Jodi to friends?
Great! Jodi was helpful from day 1. She helped to ease any worries and concerns I had prior to the shoot. We were also kept up to date with the progress of our order regularly. Would highly recommend Jodi to anyone who wants high-quality beautiful photos. Could not be any happier with how she worked with our little boy and the photos produced.
How did you feel about finding a photographer and how did Jodi make you feel?
We found it very daunting as we had specific requirements. Jodi was a perfect fit for us as her photos were exactly what we were after and she was great to work with. Jodi made us feel incredibly comfortable with the whole process. Even when our little man decided to arrive 5 weeks early, she was still happy to accommodate the session to his needs!
Is there a story surrounding your pregnancy? Was it a breeze or did your little one make you work for it?
My pregnancy was pretty straightforward until we reached 30 weeks due to low blood pressure. At 34 weeks, my waters broke and I was told that I had to have the baby at 36 weeks unless I went into labour naturally. Unfortunately, after a week, bub became very distressed so was induced at 35 weeks. Once baby Lucas arrived, he spent 15 days in SCU where we managed his body temperature and he learnt to feed properly. Despite his early arrival, he is now at home – happy, healthy and thriving!
How did you find out whether you were having a boy or a girl? Or was it a total surprise?
We planned to have a gender reveal but I was too excited to wait and looked during the ultrasound! My partner would have been happy to wait but there was no way I could wait that long!
How did you come up with your baby’s name? And did you have other names that you used while your new baby was still in the womb)?
We decided not to name Lucas until he was here. We had a few names that we liked but none that really stuck out. Lucas was nameless for two days until my partner reminded me of this name and we both loved it!
Tell me your favourite stores that you are obsessed with shopping at (this may help other parents prepare for their new miracle)…
How far in advance did you prepare the nursery? Or did you wing it last minute?
We were nowhere near ready for his early arrival. I didn’t even have a hospital bag ready! We got those last minute things done while he was still in the hospital.
Do you have any tips for expecting mums?
I went in with so many expectations of what I wanted but sometimes you can’t plan for the unexpected. One of the biggest things that I learnt from the whole experience was to slow down and put you and your baby first.
Do you have any tips and tricks for parents adjusting to parenthood in those early days?
Go with the flow as each day is different. DO what is best for you and the baby. I unfortunately never fully got my milk supply so had to formula feed. At the time I thought it was the end of the world, but the main thing is that bubs is healthy and getting all he needs from the formula!
